Biological purification
The "civil" waste is purified "biologically" because this is the most suitable system to obtain performance exceeding 90%.
WTEC plants work on decomposition of the BOD5 throught active sludge total oxidation processes, with mineralization of sludge in excess (extended aeration).
The
correct supply of oxygen contained in the air and the homogeneous
distribution within the tank allows the formation and growth of active
sludge, an indispensable factor for purification.
Waste water biological treatment through a de-nitrification process.
De-nitrification is the biological process that reduces nitrates to a gaseous molecular nitrogen. It is mainly realized in an anoxic tank, positioned before the active sludge one, powered by the effluent from the primary treatments, by secondary sedimentation sludge returns and by the flood water aerated by the oxidation tank.
Through de-nitrification the quantity of nitrogen in the effluent treated is reduced and is subsequently released. The de-nitrifying micro-organisms metabolize the organic substance using nitrate oxygen as the oxygen source and reducing it to nitrogen.
Residual products of the de-nitrification reaction are, in few words, micro-organisms and gaseous nitrogen. The reaction occurs in specific tanks in which sludge return, containing de-nitrifying bacteria, and/or effluent containing nitrates and deriving from the oxidation-nitrification process, and the inlet waste water containing biodegradable organic carbon, come into contact.
Sludge aerobic stabilization.
Aerobic stabilization is carried out in aerated tanks, similar to the ones used for water treatment. the sludge stabilization is performed by micro-organisms using their own protoplasm to acquire the energy required for sustenance .
Thickening
The process may be performed in a static or dynamic form (sludge riddling thickening bridge), in order to facilitate the subsequent dehydration process; a process that may be mechanical or performed through distribution on a drying bed.
Sludge dehydration
The reduction in the sludge water content is necessary as a complement to the real process and as a preparation for disposal.
Filtration on a specific filtering bed Dual Media
A process that uses rapid pressure filters, made up of 2 filtering beds with a mixture of selected Quartzite and Anthracite.
Re-use for irrigation through Ultra-filtration
A treatment that can guarantee a high level of fresh water recovery thanks to the level of resistance of the membranes and the diversity of the same ones, (WTEC patent).
Our experience allows to create plants for sewage from: dairy plants, slaughterhouses, breeding farms, agro-industrial transformation, tinning factories, frozen food industry, meat and fish processing plants, laundries, galvanic industries, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries etc.
